JACKSONVILLE, Fla.-- Action News is asking a legal expert whether Michael Dunn should take the stand in his murder trial.
Ronald Davis took the stand in his son's murder trial Monday. He was calm and collected. He came face to face with the man accused of killing his son and described the visit from Jordan's friends in the days following his death.
"They told me how sorry they were," said Ron Davis.
It was an emotional day for Michael Dunn. He watched his son testify about that night. It was the night of Chris Dunn's wedding.
"He seemed to be in a good mood," said Dunn about his father hours before the shooting.
The state attorney argued back, saying Dunn's son barely knew his father and had barely seen him in the past 15 years. While the jury has seen emotion from Dunn, they have not heard from him.
Legal expert Dale Carson tells Action News it may be the only way Dunn can prove his case.
"I don't think he has any choice. He has to demonstrate he was in fear," said Carson.
Testimony will continue Tuesday morning.
