The deck refers to the road of the bridge that carries traffic across the bridge.

TRENDING:

The part of the bridge that supports the deck is known as the superstructure. It also connects a substructure to another substructure. The culvert of a bridge is a pipe or small structure used for drainage under a road.

Bridges are inspected and rated on a scale from 0 to 9 – with 0 considered failed condition and 9 as excellent condition. A rating of 4 is considered in poor condition.
