JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — More than two dozen employees and customers were forced to evacuate the Chick-Fil-A on Southside Boulevard at The Avenues after it filled with smoke Wednesday.

JFRD responded with multiple units shortly after 8 pm and began looking for the source of the smoke. Fire crews believe an A/C unit at the restaurant was the problem.

Fifteen employees and about a dozen customers were in the store at the time. No injuries are reported.

The restaurant will be closed for the rest of the evening as repair crews work to fix the A/C. The Chick-Fil-A hopes to reopen Thursday morning.
