According to AAA, 49 million Americans are set to hit the road for Thanksgiving, and it looks as if prices at the pumps have lowered just in time for the holiday.

On Jacksonville’s Southside, Action New Jax has seen prices between $2.09 and $2.12.

This is much lower than the state average of$2.46 and the average price in the country, which is $2.62.

The Murphy USA gas station on Atlantic Boulevard near Kernan Boulevard in Jacksonville, topped the list for lowest and best gas stations in Florida, according to GasBuddy.com.

Some gas stations are keeping their prices low to keep up with their competitors.

“It’s awesome. I mean, what, $2 a gallon? We haven’t seen it like this in a long time. And heck, I’m going to Tampa for the weekend.

I’ve got a huge gas guzzler right here, so I’m lovin’ every minute of it,” said Mike Norvilas.
