Major weather change for Easter weekend

Onshore flow to bring blustery conditions, dangerous rip currents, rain/storms.

Jacksonville, Fl — Today is our last very warm day with temperatures soaring into the mid to upper 80s. There may be an isolated inland afternoon shower but overall it’s dry.

Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh is tracking gusty winds for the weekend. Saturday looks cloudy with isolated morning showers, then afternoon/evening showers and a few thunderstorms. Temperatures will peak at 81 and fall into the 70s by late afternoon.

Easter day is looking especially windy and much cooler. A few showers are possible, especially from I-95 to the beaches. Temperatures won’t get out of 60s and wind gusts will be strongest at the beaches.

Dangerous rip currents and beach erosion are likely. Rough beach weather will be with us Sunday thru Tuesday as daily rains stick around next week in a persisting unsettled weather pattern.

Next week starts cooler than average with temperatures only in the 60s on Monday, then the mid-70s on Tuesday.
