JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol investigators arrested a man Thursday in connection to a high-speed chase that left a state trooper seriously injured on Interstate 295 in June.
Aden Lothar Parker was charged with first-degree felony aggravated fleeing and eluding resulting in serious bodily injury to an officer, according to a news release from FHP.

The arrest follows an incident on June 21, when Trooper R. Martin attempted to pull Parker over for driving 115 mph in a 55 mph zone on the I-295 northbound exit ramp to State Road 21 (Blanding Boulevard). Troopers said Parker acknowledged the traffic stop before speeding away.
During the resulting chase, Parker operated his motorcycle in a hazardous manner, FHP said. The pursuit ended in a patrol car crash that severely injured Trooper Martin, while Parker drove away from the scene.

Investigators with FHP’s Patrol Operations and the Bureau of Criminal Intelligence and Investigations located Parker after collecting evidentiary items during an extensive investigation. Troopers said additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
Parker is being held on a $500,003 bond. Under the terms of his release conditions, he faces house arrest with GPS monitoring and is prohibited from driving.
Trooper Martin continues to recover at home from his injuries “and was relieved to hear about the arrest,” the release said.
