Man arrested on suspicion of dragging, strangling fiance

INTERLACHEN, Fla. — The Putnam County Sheriff’s Office responded to a reported assault in progress on Thursday around 7:20 p.m.

When police arrived, they spoke with a woman who said she was arguing with her fiancé, Rafael Campos-Zurita.

She said he grabbed her by the throat, pushed her to the ground and dragged her through the house, knocking over pieces of furniture.

When officials spoke with Campos-Zurita, he told them he had been drinking and said he “had 15 beers all day.”

Police say independent witness verified the women’s statements.
