JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — After five long months, police now say they know what happened to 72-year-old Clyde King.
Richard Greene, 44, Now faces charges that stem from a 2014 murder investigation.
The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office announced the arrest of Tuesday of Greene for the December 2014 death of Clyde King, who was the owner of King's Lawn Service.
JSO says Greene allegedly suffocated him and tossed him in a shallow grave behind the victim's business on the Southside.
"The cause of death was smothering," JSO Assistant Chief Chris Butler said. "On December 4, our records show the victim's defibrillator shows three events within five minutes , and according to a cardiologist, this is when the victim died."
The investigation began when victim's brother reported King missing Dec. 29, 2014.
Greene worked for King's landscaping company and according to police, it was a classic case of employee greed. After he allegedly killed his boss, Greene kept running the business and is accused of committing fraud and forgery.
Greene was arrested on those charges earlier this year.
Neighbor Claude Brooks tells us Greene was always around, so he figured something was wrong.
"This guy had to know something about it because he came here every day," Brooks said.

Investigators say Greene wasn't hard to connect to the murder. He was wearing an ankle monitor at the time of the crime because of a sexual battery case in another county. He was questioned by police after King disappeared, but he said he hadn't seen his boss since Christmas Eve.
JSO says thanks to the electronic world, all the pieces came together.
"Technology played a huge part in solving this case," Butler said.
King's body lay in the grave five to six weeks after his death, so it took some time to identify him and make some connections.
Greene has a lengthy criminal past, including sexual battery and drugs.
