Michael Dunn appeals murder conviction in Jordan Davis' death

Attorneys for Michael Dunn are appealing his first-degree murder conviction.

In 2014, Dunn was sentenced to life in prison for the shooting death of 17-year-old Jordan Davis.

Prosecutors say the two got into a fight over loud music at a Southside gas station in 2012.

That fight ended with Dunn shooting into an SUV that had Davis and his three friends inside.

In the latest appeal, Dunn's attorney reiterates that his client was defending himself and the shooting was justified.

Dunn's attorney also says the murder trial should have been moved out of Jacksonville, because of the media attention would affect a jury.
