A South Carolina teen who officials believed was missing for more than a year said she wasn’t missing.
Officials thought Renee Edenfield, 17, had traveled to Jacksonville.
The teen noticed police were looking for her and walked into the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office Wednesday.
The National Center for Missing and Exploited Children sent out an alert Wednesday, saying that the girl was last seen on Jan. 29, 2016, in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The notice included a description and mentioned that she may have traveled to the Jacksonville area. However, the website still lists her as missing on Thursday.
The Spartanburg Sheriff’s Office said they could only confirm that the teen came into their office and that she is OK. The office told Action News Jax they are looking into why Edenfield was reported missing.
