As the investigation in to the death of a 4-year-old in Baker County continues, the boy’s mother has been arrested for aggravated child abuse and child neglect.

Soon after the death in November, the mother's boyfriend, Jonathan Register, was arrested for aggravated child abuse and aggravated battery on one of 4-year-old Chance Vanderpool's siblings. The Baker County Sheriff's Offic says there were four children in the home.

Now, Vanderpool’s mother, Heather Stevenson, has been arrested. Her arrest report does not provide details on the nature of the charges.

Register told investigators that he found Vanderpool unresponsive, and tried to wake him by splashing cold water on him. He then notified the Stevenson, who called 911. Investigators say there were signs of trauma on the boy, but he had also been known to have accidents.

The Baker County Sheriff’s Office says more information is not being released at this time, due to the still active investigation.
