HILLARD, Fla. — UPDATED STORY 9:19 P.M. According to Florida Highway Patrol, a semitruck and a pickup truck were traveling southbound on US-1. As the pickup truck was making a U-turn, the semitruck struck the rear of the pickup truck.
The pickup truck was pushed to the right shoulder of the lane while the semitruck crossed the median and struck a tree. The semitruck was then engulfed in flames.
The driver of the semi-truck was fatally injured.

A serious crash between a truck and a semi left a semi engulfed in flames on US1 and Conner Cuttoff in Hillard Friday afternoon, according to Florida Highway Patrol.
