A fire tore through a family’s home in Callahan, now the three are left with almost nothing.
John Coltrane, his wife, and son were left with rubble, their precious belongings charred.
Sunday a fire ripped through their home.
“I kicked in the door got my wife out,” Coltrane said.
According to Coltrane it was an electrical fire that happened in the middle of the night.
The three escaped unscathed, but are left with the burden of starting over again
“We couldn't get insurance because of the age of the home," Coltrane said.
Coltrane, a 20-year military veteran, wants to get things back to normal as soon as possible.
“Our pets are at a friend’s house, we are at a family member's house, our family is kind of split up," Coltrane said.
Friends of the family started a GoFundMe page to help the Coltranes who say what they need most are clothes.
People can also drop off goods and supplies to help Coltrane's family at The Anchor of God Church, 541798 U.S. 1 in Callahan, Monday-Friday from 8:30 p.m. to 4 p.m.
