New St. Johns Fire Station at Flagler Estates begins making calls on Sunday

The county will hold an official ribbon-cutting ceremony at a later date, but the station’s firefighters are ready to respond

HASTINGS, Fla. — St. Johns County Fire Rescue announced it will begin making calls from its new $3.8 million station in Hastings on Sunday morning.

In a post on its Facebook page, the department said the joint fire station and St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office substation will begin service at 8 a.m.

The combined stations on Melanie Street feature a 1.5-bay fire station alongside dedicated office and operational space for sheriff’s work.’

Groundbreaker occurred in March 2025, and the post said an official ribbon-cutting ceremony date will be announced soon.

The joint facility is expected to significantly reduce response times for rural Flagler Estates and Hastings communities.
