JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — Naval Air Station Jacksonville is expected to unveil Wednesday a new technology in the fight against terrorism.

The technology is called a StressVest, which is meant to help training exercises feel more real.

The stress vests will be used for the first time Wednesday, only at NAS JAX.

NAS JAX is using the vests as part of its annual training to focus on anti-terrorism and crisis management.

The way it works is, once a laser pulse hits the vest it triggers a brief, but painful electrical shock to the wearer. The idea is to try and replicate a real-life situation.

The vests can also be used anywhere as it doesn’t require training facilities.
