NTSB puts El Faro operations on hold due to Tropical Storm Kate

The National Transportation Safety Board says they will temporarily stop all operations related to El Faro due to Tropical Storm Kate.

Kate formed and is north of the Central Bahamas with maximum sustained winds at 40 mph.

The First Alert Weather team says the storm will stay hundreds of miles east of our coast.

The NTSB confirmed that the wreckage found at the bottom of ocean off Crooked Island in the Bahamas on Oct. 31 is that of El Faro.

The NTSB is continuing to survey the area and vessel.
