PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — A man is dead, and another is seriously injured after a collision on State Road 20 on Reaves Avenue in Putnam County, per The Florida Highway Patrol’s report.
According to FHP, a 76-year-old man was traveling south on Reaves Avenue, north of State Road 20, in a pickup truck. A 27-year-old man was also driving a pickup truck west in the left lane of SR 20 Westbound.
The front of the younger man’s vehicle struck the left side of the older man’s vehicle as the older man was crossing south on SR 20 WB toward SR 20 Eastbound.
FHP says the 27-year-old man struck a business structure sign and came to rest on the right shoulder of SR 20 EB. The collision sent the other driver north, where he came to final rest on SR 20 WB.
The 76-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene due to his injuries, and the other driver was transported by EMS, suffering injuries.
