Person in wheelchair hit by semi-truck

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A person in a wheelchair was hit by a semi-truck in the 5800 block of New Kings Road on Thursday night.

The Jacksonville Sheriff's Office said the person was taken to UF Health Jacksonville with life-threatening injuries.

Northbound lanes were closed as police investigated. Action News has a crew at the scene getting more information.
