A plane crash killed four people Sunday at an airport about 25 miles south of Gainesville, Florida, the Williston Police Department said.
At 1:12 p.m., officers went to the crash site at the Williston Municipal Airport. The Williston Fire Rescue and Levy County Emergency Medical Services personnel were already on the scene by the time officers arrived.
EMS discovered that the crash happened at the tree line on the north side of the taxiway at the eastern most part.

Responders checked the wreckage and confirmed that all four passengers were dead.
The plane was a 1948 Cessna 170 "Tail Dragger" that was registered in Texas.
Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board representatives are now investigating the crash.
