COCOA, Fla. — An armed robber was shot by a convenience store owner late Tuesday night, Cocoa police said.
Police said two men stormed into the Chevron gas station convenience store on South Cocoa Boulevard and demanded money.
Officers said when the robbers pointed a gun at the store owner, he pulled out a gun and opened fire, hitting one of the men.

The other robber ran out of the store, but the owner shot into the getaway car as it drove away, police said.
The robber who was shot was airlifted to the hospital and the other robber remains at large, police said.
Customers told Channel 9 that the owner of the Chevron is known to be armed.
Reporter Kim Eiten found out that there was another shooting inside the same store in 2009, where the owner at the time shot a man who pulled a gun and demanded money. The next day, he told Channel 9 he'd prepared for such a moment and had no choice but to fight back.
Eiten is working to confirm whether the owner in 2009 is the same one as the current owner.
The names of those involved have not been released.
