JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man caught a woman taking mail from the house next door, but that's not why police arrested her.

John Fabiano was working in his yard when he heard a woman walking up to the house next door.

"I thought it was the mail person," said Fabiano.

He has lived in Springfield for eight years. It's a tightly knit community, where he knows his neighbors well and he knows the house next door is empty.

"I realized she was taking the mail out of the box. She wasn't my neighbor and she wasn't the mail person," said Fabiano.

Fabiano said he told the woman to put the mail back, and followed her down the sidewalk, taking pictures of her on his phone. He called police and showed them the photos. When officers talked to Kimberly Blair, they say she gave a fake name. She even had someone else's ID card.

When police found out who she really was, she was booked and charged with falsely identifying herself to police. It didn't stop there. According to the report, Blair is also a person of interest in another local crime involving a weapon.

Fabiano just hopes he did enough to keep Blair from walking down his sidewalk again, any time soon.

"We watch out for one another here in Springfield," said Fabiano.

At last check, Blair was still in the Duval County Jail.
