LAKE CITY, Fla. — A man remained in Columbia County jail Thursday morning on $1 million bond after a crash Saturday that resulted in the deaths of three people. Lake City police identified the victims Wednesday as Bonnie Jean Welker, 44, Mae Waters, 15, and Mya Raulerson, 16, all from Lake City.

Raulerson died from her injuries Wednesday at the hospital, police said. Welker and Waters died at the scene of the crash.

Police said Jaron Carr, 31, was driving a black Ford F-150 at a high rate of speed near the intersection of West US Highway 90 and NW Centurion Court when he smashed into the passenger side of a blue Chrysler minivan which contained the thee victims.

Carr left the scene of the crash before officers arrived and was found a short time later at the Gateway Inn, police said. He was charged with leaving the scene of a crash involving deaths and driving with a suspended license. He is also being held for warrants in Missouri and Brevard County.
