Woman killed in hit-and-run in Jacksonville’s Hogan’s Creek area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A woman is dead after police said she was hit by a vehicle. Her body was found by an officer on patrols at about 3:53 a.m. Monday in the roadway at 8th and W. Illinois streets in the Hogan’s Creek neighborhood.

The victim, a woman in her 50’s, was unresponsive in the westbound lanes of the 600 block of W. 8th Street, a Jacksonville police news release states. “The female had injuries consistent with being struck by a vehicle,” the news release states.

Jacksonville Fire Rescue pronounced her dead at the scene.
