Teen injured in car shooting in Wesconnett area

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office has reported a teenager shot inside their car on 5600 Seaboard Ave.

At 6:30 p.m. Officers responded to a girl in her late teens shot while still sitting inside her vehicle.

JSO reports an unknown man approached the parked car when a verbal altercation occurred, leading to the man shooting the teen and fleeing the scene on foot.

JFRD responded and transported the victim to a local hospital where she is currently in stable condition.

There is currently no motive for the shooting and is believed to be an isolated incident.

The Jacksonville Violent Crimes Unit is investigating the scene.

This is the second car shooting in Jacksonville on Thursday. The other was in Normandy.
