JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — A man in his 30s was shot in the leg early Saturday morning while walking to a nearby convenience store, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office.
Officers responded to the 1300 block of Barnett Street, near Kings Road, at approximately 6:30 a.m. after reports of a shooting.
They found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg. Jacksonville Fire and Rescue transported him to a local hospital, where his injuries are considered non-life-threatening, police said.
According to investigators, the victim was approached by an unknown male. The suspect told the victim to “tighten up” before shooting him and fleeing on foot.
The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 16 years old, with a thin build.
Investigators believe the shooting was an isolated incident.
