DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — A restaurant was temporarily closed and another was under investigation for a food-borne illness by health inspectors this past week.
Health inspectors visited Clark’s Fish Camp & Seafood on Hood Landing Road in Julington Creek for a food-borne illness investigation. Inspectors found rodent droppings, live roaches and small fruit flies in the kitchen.
Inspectors also went to Hot Wok on Loch Rane Boulevard in Orange Park and found more than 12 live roaches, dead roaches on sticky tape and eggs with cracked or broken shells. The restaurant was shut down for one day to address the issues.
“We’ve also had them come out three separate times in a matter of two weeks just to make sure that everything is gone and there’s no issues,” said the employee.
An employee let Action News into the kitchen for a tour and said they’ve taken extra steps to fix the roach issue with their pest control company.
At Pita King 2 on Edgewood North Avenue, inspectors issued a stop sale on food for temperature abuse. They found sanitizing solution too weak to clean and cold food held too warm.
