ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — Five smash-and-grab burglaries happened in the parking lot of Epic Theaters on Thursday night while the car owners watched movies inside.
According to police reports, when the victims were done watching their movie, they walked back out to their cars and found their windows had been smashed.

St Johns County sheriff’s deputies posted about the incidents on Facebook, saying women’s purses and wallets were taken from the cars, along with other items like credit cards.
Quintin Hare said his friend's car was broken into last year and he learned from his friend's experience not to leave anything in a car.
“I take everything with me, like my wallet and my keys, everything,” Hare said.

Deputies say the thieves struck between 7:30 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.
