Putnam County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a corrections officer who reportedly used Facebook to solicit a woman for sex.

Patrick Dean, 56, solicited sex from an undercover detective via Facebook Messenger, according to a police report.

“He had been conversing by text message and online on Facebook with our undercover detectives,” said Sheriff Gator DeLoach. "I don't think this will come as a surprise to a lot of our employees."

He texted the woman and said, "I am waiting for you" when he got there.

The report says he agreed to pay $75 and asked her to meet him at the Circle K on State Road 20.

He was arrested and taken to the Putnam County Jail.

Dean is facing a misdemeanor charge for solicitation. His bond amount was set at $500.

In 1992, Patrick Dean was investigated for improper handling of an inmate—that allegation was unfounded.

In 2003, he was reprimanded for having a relationship with a woman who was once an inmate.

In 2012, Dean was suspended for allowing underaged drinking at his home during a party

In 2016, he was suspended again for failing to provide medication to an inmate

And last year Dean was suspended for making rude comments to a woman on social media.

The sheriff says he anticipates that the investigation will be wrapped up quickly and that Dean’s employment will be terminated.
