PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — The Florida Highway Patrol says one person is dead in a crash in Putnam Couty Friday morning.
The crash occurred on State Road 20 and Osceola Street around 6 a.m.
A sedan was traveling eastbound on State Road 20 when the driver, a 38-year-old man, lost control of the vehicle.
The sedan went off the roadway and into the grass shoulder where it struck a tree. Upon impact, the vehicle caught fire.
As a result, the passenger, a 32-year-old woman, suffered fatal injuries and died on the scene. The driver survived the crash with serious injuries.
All lanes at Crill Ave and Osceola Street were blocked due to the crash.
