Small plane crashes in St. Johns River near Palatka

PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — Update 7 p.m.: The Florida Highway Patrol said a seaplane was attempting to land on the water when it was damaged as it touched down.

The pilot sustained minor injuries and a recovery team will attempt to get the plane out of the water, according to FHP.

PCSO said one person was on the plane when it went down. They escaped with minor injuries, but the plane is underwater.
