PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — Four people were arrested on drug charges following a traffic stop Wednesday after deputies discovered methamphetamine, cocaine and fentanyl hidden inside a vehicle, including drug baggies concealed in milkshakes.
Deputies initially stopped the vehicle, driven by 41-year-old Rocky Shuman of Keystone Heights, for failing to stop at a stop sign, a Putnam County Sheriff’s Office social media post states. Shuman admitted to driving with a suspended license, leading deputies to search him and find methamphetamine on his person before searching the rest of the car.
A search of the vehicle revealed cocaine and trafficking amounts of methamphetamine inside a cup located at the center console, along with drug paraphernalia. The vehicle owner, 48-year-old Brandy Cain of Florahome, was sitting in the front passenger seat next to the container.
In the backseat, 34-year-old Justin Palerino and 27-year-old Kierstyn Yarboro, both of Florahome, were holding milkshakes in an attempt to conceal narcotics, deputies said. Yarboro’s milkshake contained small baggies of drugs, one of which tested positive for fentanyl, according to the sheriff’s office. Yarboro was already on felony probation for possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, while Palerino was found holding burnt tinfoil commonly used for smoking narcotics, deputies said.
Cain was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, possession of containers, using a structure for drug activity, possession of a new legend drug without a prescription and drug equipment possession. Her bond was set at $38,500. Shuman and Palerino were each charged with possession of a controlled substance without a prescription and drug equipment possession, with bond set at $3,000 each. Yarboro faces two counts of possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, drug equipment possession and probation violation and is being held without bond.
