JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — For the first time since Gov. Rick Scott signed off on the newly redrawn congressional map, Rep. Corrine Brown is speaking out.
Florida’s congressional map was recently redrawn during a special session. In the past, Brown has been firm that nothing about her district would change. Now when she speaks about the redrawn map, she’s changing her tune.
Florida’s congressional maps were redrawn after a lawsuit accused them of favoring the Republican party.
“The judge is going to review it tomorrow and I’m waiting on his decision and I’ll deal with my decisions,” said Brown.
Congresswoman Brown said voters will decide if the new maps will work and she’s glad there are no drastic changes. Action News asked her what she thinks about representing more of Putnam County.
She said regardless of whether the lines are changed or not, she’s ready to fight to continue representing the people who live in District 5.
