JACKSONVILLE. Fla. — Action News Jax is learning new information regarding the recent arrest of a Duval County Public Schools employee.
Pierre Jean-Louis, 37, an adaptive physical education teacher, according to DCPS, was arrested last week by the Clay County Sheriff’s Office and is being charged with DUI manslaughter -- a second-degree felony.
According to an arrest report, a warrant was issued for the arrest of Jean-Louis regarding a fatal crash on March 15 in Jacksonville.
The deadly crash happened on Arlington Expressway near the Southside Connector.

An Oct. 2020 warrant states a red Chevrolet Impala being driven by Jean-Louis hit another car head-on. That driver, identified as Angel Starr was taken to the hospital where she died. Jean-Louis was also taken to the hospital.
A trooper who came to the hospital to speak with Jean-Louis said he smelled an alcoholic odor coming from his mouth, the warrant stated.
Authorities said Jean-Louis turned himself into the Florida Highway Patrol last week. He is being held on a $100,003 bond.
Jean-Louis started his career with DCPS in 2017 at Garden City Elementary School, where he worked itinerant assignments at multiple schools towards the end of September, including Loretto Elementary, Mandarin Oaks, and Greenland Pines.
