DUVAL COUNTY, Fla. — A plane crashed landed at the Herlong Recreational Airport Tuesday morning.

The crash happened around 9:30 a.m. Debbie Jones from the Jacksonville Aviation Authority said the pilot of a privately owned T-34 single-engine plane forgot to lower his landing gear.

No one was injured and the runway was not damaged, Jones said.

"I just felt bad for the guy, because I know as a pilot, you know you're better than that and you shouldn't have done it," said Flight Instructor A-cent Aviation Sage Foster.

Crews were also out inspecting plane.

The airport is located on Normandy Boulevard on Jacksonville's Westside. It is a recreational airport for light sport aircraft, skydiving, gliders and other experimental aircraft.
