San Marco is among the local neighborhoods prone to flooding during heavy rainfall and storms. Residents on Landon Avenue reported persistent flooding in August of last year, even after the first phase of the project was completed.
Following the completion of all project phases, flooding in the San Marco area has been visibly reduced.
However, the city says there is still some potential for flooding if a large amount of rainfall is received in a short amount of time.
