KINGSLAND, Ga. -- The U.S. secretary of the Navy, Ray Mabus is set to visit Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay on March 21.
During his visit he will speak with sailors at an all-hands call addressing personnel issues, the importance of the submarine force and the future of the Navy and Marine Corps.
Mabus is the 75th United States secretary of the Navy and leads America's Navy and Marine Corps.
He has traveled more than 100 countries to maintain and develop relationships with national and international offices.
Mabus has also traveled to Afghanistan on 12 separate occasions to recognize the sacrifice and service of sailors and Marines in combat zones.
Before serving as the U.S secretary he served as the governor of Mississippi, then as ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and later a chairman and CEO of a manufacturing company.
