CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — A crash involving a semi-truck on U.S. 301 blocked the road Thursday morning.
All northbound lanes and one southbound lane were initially closed due to the crash. Around 8:30 a.m. all northbound lanes opened, and the southbound lane reopened just before 7 a.m.
It was initially reported by the Florida Highway Patrol that the crash involved two trucks. However, FHP said later it only involved one semi-truck.

The crash happened around 4:15 a.m. near CR-218. FHP identified the driver as 43-year-old Cary Johnson.
FHP said the driver veered off the side of the northbound lanes near the tree line, went across the northbound lanes and overturned in the median. FHP believes the driver fell asleep; however, it is still early in the investigation.
