Glynn County Fire Rescue said a child has died and two other children were taken to the hospital after an RV burst into flames on Wednesday.

Firefighters said the fire happened while a family of five was inside its trailer at Holly Street Circle around 12:30 p.m.

Neighbors told Action News Jax that a little boy was killed in the fire.

The other four family members were taken to the hospital. Two of the victims were treated in Glynn, while two others were taken to a burn unit in Gainesville.

Jamie Hanover said he was at home earlier Wednesday when he smelled smoke and described a fireball coming from a nearby RV.

"I started running, I called 911 and I looked over and there are people everywhere on fire, burning," Hanover said.

Hanover said the parents were in the front yard.

"The parents were flopping around like crazy, and I didn't see hardly any burns on them," Hanover said.

Hanover said two children were laying inches from the flames.

"I seen them babies laying there. The babies were on fire and their skin was burning," Hanover said.

That’s when he said he and another woman grabbed the kids and held them until emergency crews got to the scene.

"The one didn't even look like a baby, he didn't look like a baby. Looked like a burnt baby doll," Hanover said.

And the screams didn’t stop: Hanover said the father kept yelling that another child was still inside.

"He said his 3-year-old was in there, his 3-year-old was in there,” Hanover said.

A neighbor told Action News Jax that’s the child who died.

His two siblings and two parents were taken to hospitals.

"It was too much chaos, you just couldn't believe it, no words to describe it other than horrific,” Hanover said.

Action News Jax is still working to confirm how the fire started.
