Sinkhole opens up on flooded St. Augustine street

St. Augustine, Fla. — A sinkhole has opened up in a St. Augustine neighborhood, according to the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office.

It started with a driver who deputies say caused significant flooding after they hit a fire hydrant located in Palencia.

The flooding is now a sinkhole.

Deputies say water has been turned off for residents in the area for an undetermined amount of time.
