JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — This week the health department shut down three restaurants in Jacksonville.

Action News Jax visited PK Noodle on Beach Boulevard. A health inspector cited it for having 20 live roaches, so many dead roaches there were “too many to count” and medicine improperly stored.

The eatery was temporarily shut down. The manager told us they cleaned the restaurant top to bottom. The health inspector returned the next morning and PK Noodle was allowed to reopen for business.

At This Chicks Kitchen, a health inspector issued a stop sale on nine items including chicken and lasagna for temperature violations, eggs being held too warm, and there weren’t enough coolers to hold food. The restaurant was temporarily shut down and it was allowed to reopen after two follow-up inspections.

Sandwich Shop Kaffe on Beach Boulevard is making its third appearance on the Restaurant Report. An inspector recently saw 10 live flies near a cooler, temperature violations for ham and steak and a dumpster overflowing with garbage. It was shut down and allowed to reopen the next day after a follow-up inspection.
