A 29-year-old man shot and killed during a domestic dispute in St. Augustine on Thursday is the fourth fatal shooting in the area in less than seven days.
Ironically, just hours before Thursday’s shooting, the St. Augustine Police Department took to Facebook, posting a statement on the recent rash of crime.
St. Johns County resident Christopher Root tells Action News Jax, “We’re very concerned about it.”
He’s not the only one who has noticed the recent influx of violence.

“We’re seeing a change with the culture of the neighborhood’s people. It’s just not what it used to be,” said St. Augustine resident Carol Fascione.
On Saturday, police said two men shot and killed each other outside a St. Johns County convenience store following an online argument.
On Tuesday, James Henry Weaver, 56, was found dead from a gunshot wound in a trailer on Los Robles Court.
These crimes have neighbors asking what’s being done to combat criminal activity.
“I have two children I want them to be safe and secure. I just hope that whatever is going on right now can be resolved,” Root said.
