ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — The City of St. Augustine and Flagler College will host a joint community town hall on Thursday, Sept. 10, featuring St. Augustine Mayor Nancy Sikes-Kline and Flagler College President John Delaney.
The event, located in the Flagler Room at Flagler College, is free and open to the public starting at 6:00 p.m.
Members of the community will have the opportunity to hear leadership updates from both Delaney and Sikes-Kline before participating in a question-and-answer session.
Discussion topics scheduled for the evening include community and cultural programming, students living in St. Augustine and the economic impact of Flagler College on the city.
John Delaney, president of Flagler College, emphasized the institution’s connection to the surrounding area ahead of the event. “Flagler College is fortunate to be part of a community with such a rich history and strong sense of place,” Delaney said. “This town hall is an opportunity to connect with our neighbors, share what’s happening at the College and hear directly from members of the community.”
The town hall marks a continued joint initiative between city officials and college leadership to align municipal and academic interests.
Sikes-Kline, mayor of St. Augustine, noted that both entities have been working to strengthen their relationship in recent years. “This will be the first of its kind opportunity for the City and the College to come together, hear from one another, but more importantly hear from the community,” Sikes-Kline said. “We look forward to an engaging evening with an open and productive conversation.”
