ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A St. Augustine man is behind bars after detectives say he used a private website to sell and deliver fentanyl out of his home.
Tyler Marrs, 30, was arrested after an investigation by the St. Johns County Sheriff’s Office Special Investigations Unit. Detectives say they made several undercover purchases of fentanyl from Marrs before moving in.
On Sept. 3, detectives served a search warrant at Marrs’ home on Timberwood Drive. According to the sheriff’s office, they found:
- 11 firearms
- Two drones
- 5.5 grams of fentanyl
- 78.2 grams of a suspected synthetic opioid, a Schedule I controlled substance
- 3.7 grams of methamphetamine
- 18 grams of an unidentified white powder
- 122.5 grams of various pills
- 22 Suboxone films
- Precursor chemicals
- $22,477 in cash
Detectives say they also found a pill press, a 3D printer, a laboratory manual, packaging and labels, a money counter, glassware, vials, and other equipment consistent with making and distributing drugs.
Marrs faces the following charges:
- Possession of fentanyl with intent to sell
- Possession of methamphetamine with intent to sell
- Possession of a legend drug with intent to sell
- Use or display of a firearm during the commission of a felony
- Manufacture or delivery of drug paraphernalia
- Use or possession of drug paraphernalia
When Action News Jax visited the neighborhood Thursday, several neighbors said they had noticed activity at the home and saw the arrest. None wanted to speak on camera.
The sheriff’s office said the case is part of its ongoing effort to find and disrupt people distributing dangerous drugs in St. Johns County.
