ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — The president of a union representing school support employees in St. Johns County is asking for support for a custodian detained by ICE.
Charlena Retkowski, of St. Johns Educational Support Professional Association #7462, said people need to ask the Immigration and Customs Enforcement agency to review the case of Leonel Armando Bolivar Linar, who has been detained.
“Leonel remains detained and separated from his family” Retkowski said in a letter shared with the media on Saturday. “We understand that Leonel has no criminal record and was in the United States seeking asylum with a valid work permit, with additional paperwork pending.
“His family is now facing tremendous uncertainty as they work to navigate a process that has separated him from them.”

The letter asks people to share the custodian’s story and to contact ICE for a review of his case.
