Overnight fire in St. Augustine destroys home, car and camper

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — A family’s mobile home, camper and car is badly damaged after an overnight fire in St. Augustine.

They told Action News Jax they believe the fire was the result of arson.

Neighbors said they heard dogs barking around 2:30 a.m. Wednesday and saw flames on the property on Gordo Bella Avenue near US Highway 1.

The family with three adult sons live in another house next to to the mobile home.

Family members said the RV camper was of sentimental value to the family because their late grandfather used to use it.

No one was hurt in the fire, according to officials.
