Vilano Beach expected to restrict swimming and on-beach driving for two days

ST. JOHNS COUNTY, Fla. — If you plan on hitting up Vilano Beach at the beginning of the month you may be restricted in what you can do.

The Pro Watercross National Tour is taking place at the beach, causing heavy traffic. St. Johns County announced Wednesday that on-beach driving and swimming will be restricted at the beach May 1-2.

The county is also suggesting that people avoid swimming at Vilano Beach on April 30 due to the Watercross National Tour setting up in the area.

Fans that are attending the event are asked to find alternative modes of transportation and parking locations.

The Porpoise Point Beach access will continue to be open.
