COBB COUNTY, Ga. — Several details were released during a Thursday court appearance of the teenage girl accused of stabbing and killing her step-cousin in Cobb County.
Olivia Smith,18, testified that moments after stabbing Abbey Hebert, 17, she ran to a neighbor's home.
"When she rang the doorbell and knocked on the door she said, 'Abbey made me smoke something and I stabbed her,'" Cobb County police Detective Matt Fuller said.
Smith told neighbors and police the violence happened after the two step-cousins smoked what they thought was marijuana.
"She stated several times that god made her do it," Fuller said.
Police say Smith told them she believed she was seeing God and after killing her step-cousin apparently tried to stab herself.
"We don't know if the drugs were laced with something," Fuller said."We really don't know what it is."
Smith's attorney believes his client's bizarre violent behavior will be traced back to whatever the pair smoked.
Police said they found no traces of drugs at the Hebert home, but social media posts show the two smoked something.
