Storm spotter training to be offered in St. Johns County

ST. AUGUSTINE, Fla. — St. Johns County Emergency Management has partnered with the National Weather Service Jacksonville to offer SKYWARN spotter training.

The program will be at the St. Johns County Department of Emergency Management at 100 EOC Drive. Training will be held on Jan. 25, 6:30 p.m. until 8:30 p.m.

NWS SKYWARN is a volunteer program with between 350,000 and 400,000 trained severe weather spotters. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service.
