JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — The Sulzbacher Center unveiled plans Thursday to begin construction on a new, separate community for women, children and families.
The new Sulzbacher Village will be built outside the downtown core.

The Sulzbacher Village will provide studio, one-bedroom and two-bedroom permanent housing units to single women, female veterans and single- and two-parent families. It will also have 70 units that will accommodate 310 people.
The center will also have 30 units providing for women and families in need of short-term emergency housing and medical respite care.

The residents at the Village will receive case management, job training and life skills classes.
Construction is expected to begin in spring 2016.
