What appeared to start with a sexual encounter at a Motel 6 off Youngerman Circle early Friday escalated to a woman being shot in the face.
28-year-old Jacob Martinez of Orange Park was arrested for aggravated battery with a deadly weapon after a woman was shot in the face, according to an arrest report.
The victim was bleeding from her mouth and crying, telling an officer ‘He shot me, he shot me’. The woman was taken to Orange Park Medical Center with non-life threatening injuries.
According to the arrest report, a witness who was in the room at the time of the shooting took the suspects keys and held on to them so he couldn’t get away.
Another witness told police that the four of them had been partying together and having sex, and the gun went off, shooting the victim in the face.
One of the witnesses told police where they could find the firearm used in the shooting. A 9mm pistol was recovered by detectives.
